Research, Innovation & Development Office
The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development is located in the office of the Vice Chancellor, and directly accountable to him. The Directorate was established in 2007 as Development Office in the Office of the Vice Chancellor with Prof. L.S. Bilbis as the pioneer Development Officer. The office was upgraded to the status of Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development in 2019. The main responsibility of the Directorate is the development and advancement of the University’s profile in world-class research, innovation and research training in an increasingly competitive environment. The Directorate is also responsible for the development and implementation of research and innovation strategy for the University, promoting change in the quality, volume and impact of the world class research outputs emanating from the University. The Directorate also ensures effective partnership and collaboration with local and international funders, industry and the public sector.
