Ibrahim Umar Karaye

Brief Biography

My name is Karaye, Ibrahim Umar. I am an indigene of Sokoto South local government area of Sokoto State. I was born on 29 December, 1978 in Sokoto. I attended primary school at Alhaji Alhaji Model Primary School, Sokoto from 1984-1991. Junior secondary school at G.S.S. Farfaru, Sokoto from 1991-1994 from where I proceeded to Nagarta College, Sokoto for Senior Secondary school Certificate (SSCE) which I obtained in 1997. I obtained my first degree in B.Sc. Botany with second class honour, in the year 2002 and M.Sc. in Plant Physiology at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 2012. Currently, I am on study-leave at Bayero University Kano where I am pursuing a Ph D in Plant Physiology at the Department of Plant Biology. I was first employed by the Sokoto State Arabic and Islamic Education Board in the year 2003 and posted to G.G.S.S. Illela as a Biology Master for the period of four years. I was transferred to Sultan Abubakar College, Sokoto as Biology Master in the year 2006. From there I was appointed as Graduate Assistant in the Department of Biological Sciences. I held some positions in the Department notably the Secretary, Departmental Board 2011-2010, Botany unit Exams Officer in the year 2012-2018. The Departmental Exams Officer between 2014-2020. To date, I hold the rank of Lecturer I. I am happily married with children.
