Brief Biography

Dr. Matthew Cyril is a teacher by profession. He attended the College of Education Akwanga where he obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Physics/Chemistry.He also obtained B. Sc. Ed. (Physics) and M. Ed. (Science Education) at the UsmanuDanfodiyo University, Sokoto.He holds a Diploma in Structured Programming and Data Processing at NEXTGEN COMPUTERS Kaduna. He also attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Science Education. Dr. Matthew Cyril has many publications to his credit and has presented papers at national and international conferences as well as workshops within the country. He is a member of International Research and Development Institute (IRDI)Uyo, and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). He authored the book titled “Development of Test Models for Instruments in Educational Research”. He has taught at many levels of schooling from the Secondary schools to Shehu Shagari college of Education, Sokoto and is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Science and Vocational Education (DSVE) of the UsmanuDanfodiyoUniversity, Sokoto. At the University, he held administrative positions and has served in various committees such as: Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator, Undergraduate Examination Officer, Undergraduate Project Coordinator, Faculty Seminar coordinator and Member, Faculty Committee for the Review of B.ED. Part-Time Curriculum among others. He is a Nigerian from Jiblik, Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State, member, Order of The Knight of Saint Mulumba (KSM) and in 2022, the Holy Father Pope Francis I conferred on him the most prestigious Honorary Title of Knight of Saint Gregory the Great (KSGG). He is happily married with children.
