Dr. K. G. Mohammad


Brief Biography


Dr Kabiru Garba Muhammad was born in Gusau, Zamfara State. He worked in Zamfara Textiles Industries Limited Gusau after his secondary education; before he proceeded to Sokoto State College of Legal and Islamic Studies where he obtained a Distinction in Diploma in Sharia and Civil Law in 1991.

He briefly worked with Nigeria Prison Service; and later Sokoto State Ministry of Education as a Teacher in Government Secondary School Maru; before he joined the service of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in 1992 and was posted to Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. He obtained Bachelor of Laws second class upper from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 2004. He attended Lagos Campus of Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006. He joined the Faculty of Law of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto as Assistant Lecturer in 2008.

He obtained Master of Laws and Ph.D in Law in 2010 and 2015 respectively from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He also acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 2018. He rose to the rank of Associate Professor in 2020. He was the Department of Islamic Law Examination Officer between 2010 and 2017.

He also served as the Faculty of Law Examination Officer between 2015 and 2021. He was appointed Deputy Director, Academic Planning Unit in 2019. He is currently the Director, Academic Planning Unit, a position he was appointed to in July 2020. He has served in several committees in the University. He has publications in reputable law books and academic journals.
