D. Bashir Garba


Brief Biography

Dr. Bashir Garba is a seasoned Nigerian economist, academic planner, and university administrator with over 25 years of experience. He currently serves as a Lecturer in Economics at Usmanu Danfodiyo University.

He holds a PhD in Economics, MSc in ICT for Development (University of Manchester), MSc and BSc in Economics, and a PGDE. His extensive career spans academic planning and administration at several Nigerian universities, where he successfully led major accreditation and development initiatives.

Dr. Garba is a published scholar with research interests in development economics, informal sector dynamics, and fiscal policy. He is a member of several professional associations, including the Nigerian Economic Society and the Royal Economic Society (UK).

In addition to his academic and administrative achievements, he is actively engaged in community service through ICT training for Islamic scholars, educational advocacy, and digital literacy projects. His work continues to shape educational policy and socio-economic development in Nigeria.
