Brief Biography

Professor Umar Dantani is a Lecturer in the department of Political Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The Lecturer has been teaching in the department since 2005. Professor Umar Dantani has written many articles in reputable international journals on issues such as Political Economy, development and underdevelopment, Structural adjustment Programmes, Neo-liberalism, external debt, debt crisis, globalization and class interest. Others include capitalist mode of production, corruption, inclusive growth, foreign policy, security, displacement and land border closure. He attended many National and International conferences organized and hosted in the country. Professor Umar Dantani is a visiting Lecturer in the department of Political Science, Sokoto State University as well as JIBWIS College of Education, Jega, Kebbi State. The Senior Lecturer served at various apacities in national assignments. For instance, during the 2011 General Elections, he served as the collation officer in Jega Local Government Area. Similarly, during the 2015 and 2019 General elections, the Lecturer also served as the Supervisory Presiding Officer in Kalgo and Maiyama Local Governments respectively. He was the External Examiner for MPhil Upgrade of Nda Mdashiru, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, August, 2019. Furthermore, he was one time External Examiner for MPhil Upgrade of Aisha Oladaramola, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, December, 2019. Currently, Professor Umar Dantani is the Chairman Jega Local Government Education Board, External Examiner, Department of Political Science, Faculty of Management and Social Science, Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Chief Examination Officer and Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences JIBWIS College of Education Jega.
