Dandicko Dankoulodo University Maradi, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto to exchange Students and Staff

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, had hosted four students from Hill City University, Monrovia, Liberia for a practical work experience at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University, for three months  between October and December, 2022. This follows an MoU signed between the two universities in April, 2022. This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Professor Lawal Suleman Bilbis when he received a delegation from the Dandicko Dankoulodo University, Maradi, Niger Republic on Thursday 2nd Feb., 2023 at his Office. The Vice-Chancellor further disclosed that arrangements had been concluded to receive additional 30 students from the Hill City University Monrovia that would undergo a 3 months practical work experience in UDUS from March, 2023.

Similarly, following the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dandicko Dankoulodo University, Maradi, in Niger Republic and Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, the University is poised at receiving the first batch of thirty-five (35) final year students from Niger Republic for a three month practical work at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Dandicko Dankoulodo University, Maradi and head of delegation Dr. Saidou Adamou, disclosed this when he led a delegation that paid a working visit to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, to work out modalities for the take off of the exchange programme.

Dr. Saidou Adamou explained that Dandicko Dankoulodo University which was established in 2010, signed its first memorandum of understanding with Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, in 2012 and was renewed in 2019.

According to him, the aim of the exchange programme is to enhance knowledge, research and cultural sharing between academia which would benefit staff and students of both Universities.

He stated that the aim of the visit was to actualize the objectives of the MoU and developed Memorandum of Action. It was agreed that the delegation will sit along with academics from the Faculty of pharmacy eutical Sciences and College.of.Health Sciences of the University, to fashion out modus operandi for the exchange programme.

Other members of the delegation included Dr. Dakaou Ibrahim, Technical advisor to the Vice Chancellor; Dr. Ibrahim Wagani, Director of External Relations; Dr. Harouna Amadou Mahaman Laouali, Head of the Department of Medicine and Dr. Kassoum Djataou Bahari, Head of the Department of Pharmacy.
