The main objective of the programme is to train medical graduates who will fit into the health-care needs of this country and be able to practice the art of medicine in any part of the world
FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
Programmes in the faculty have been designed taking into consideration the physical, climatic and socio - economic enviroment of the savannah.
The main objectives of the programmes are to train broad-based and practical, i.e farm-oriented agriculture graduates who can cope with crop, livestock and fish production, and forestry problems of the catchment areas of the University and beyond.
FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
Courses in this Faculty prepares men and women for careers in business with majors in accounting, business administration, public administration, marketing education, economics, finance, insurance, management and office administration systems.
FACULTY OF LAW
The Faculty of Law offers a five- year LL.B degree progamme for those candidates entering at undergraduate one (UG. 1) level and a four- year LL.B degree programme for Direct entry candidates.
The Faculty offers courses of study for the degree of Bachelor of Law (LL.B) in Islamic Law and Common Law combined. The aim is to produce lawyers who are knowlegeable in these two disciplines and useful in a society where both the systems play equally important roles.
FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
The Faculty aims at developing and improving students understanding of the social problems at various stages of development in the Nigerian society.It provides courses that develop the students critical judgement,their ability to observe, understand, analyse and synthesize data on socio -economic problems usingscientific methods and techniques which will enable them to make objective contributions to national development.provide appropriate enviroment to raise the level of creativity and promote the sprit of self reliance.
FACULTY VETERINARY MEDICINE
The Faculty was established in 1984-85 academic session to offer an inter-related degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production. Initially there were ten Departments, which formed the basis of the NUC minimum standards for Veterinary Medicine with regard to the number of Departments. However, in 1991 the University reduced the number to six, and the name changed to Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The faculty is sited at the City Campus of the University and occupies about two- third of the buildings on it.
FACULTY OF EDUCATION AND EXTENSION SERVICES
The Faculty provides its graduates with a broad background in teaching education in general, towards the teaching profession in particular and develop their specialised subjects effectively in post- primary institutions and beyond.

This largest Faculty in Usmanu Danfodiyo University with 11 departments. This faculty is committed to liberal education and the concept of wholeness and an ideal of coherence that helps faculty and students synthesize knowledge and make connections among many specialties that compose the universe of knowledge.
